Martin of the Martin Swiss Guesthouse, and a long-time player of Patong Pool League, was celebrating his 13 wedding anniversary when they took on Natalie Bar, but the end score was nothing to celebrate.

As strange as it may seem, and we all know that anything can happen in the PPL, but it was the 1st round repeating itself with all five team that won their first round game also picking up victories against their opponents the second time around.

Red Light overcame a slow start against Simon & Oil’s coming back from losing their first two matches to pick up a good 8-3 win.

Martin and Pom from Martin Swiss were celebrating their 13th wedding anniversary as they took on table-topping Natalie Bar, but there were no presents on offer from Natalie when it came to the game.

Norbert of Martins Swiss was playing well and won his singles and doubles game but it was not enough to get the victory on the night. The league leaders won in a resolute way 4-7.

Hole in One had a strengthened team last Thursday when they took on Wombat Bar with the addition of Riccardo of the Shot Lounge in Rawai.

Wombat won the first leg 7-4 against Hole in One and Hole in One were ready for revenge. However, Wombat have been improving week-on-week this year and they weren’t going to give up easily.

Wombat again walked way with a good 4-7 win.

Elsewhere, Caddy Shack played at home to Ting Tong Bar, and although they have been good friends for years, this time Caddy Shack became Ting Tong’s worst nightmare.

Caddy won the first five games and never looked back. This resulted in an impressive 9-2 against the hard-to-beat team of Ting Tong.

In the final match of last week’s PPL action Happy End took on Wet Dreams with Happy End being without Teacher Tak and lucky mascot Fern. However, replacements were found in Dave and Khun Oye.

Both players were new to the PPL but Khun Oye won her inaugural singles and doubles matches.

Wet Dreams were unlucky with Ritchie potting the black and the white his doubles game and the game eventually ended at 7-4 to Happy End Bar..

With both Ting Tong and Hole in One suffering defeats last week Natalie Bar are now ahead by seven points in the league table. All teams under Natalie Bar will now be waiting for them to slip up, but they might be waiting a very long time.

The next round of the PPL will not be played this Thursday due to it being a Buddhist holiday so games have been rescheduled to take place either tomorrow (Feb 27). Wednesday (Feb 28) or Friday (Mar 2).
