The warning states that there will be heavy rain from May 16-18, especially along Thailand’s west coast, and in the north, northeast and east of the country.
The heavy rain is a result of high pressure flow from China to the upper northeast of Thailand, while a moderate southwest monsoon is pervading over the Andaman coast.
This has caused heavy rain across much of Thailand, including in Phuket earlier this morning.
TMD added that flash floods might occur in some areas, and that waves in the Andaman Sea could reach a height of two metres.
