After the success of last year’s ‘Say it Rights: Human Rights Speech Contest’, Amnesty International Thailand presented another exciting competition, known as the ‘2014-15 Young Journalist of the Year Award’.

Amnesty International has always encouraged young people to get involved in the cause and journalism plays a key role in exposing human rights abuses. The aim of competitions such as these is to inspire young writers to continue the fight against human rights abuses.

Students from 10 international schools across Thailand were required to write an article about one key issue. There were two categories: Under 18 and Under 14. HeadStart International School is pleased to announce that Thanyaporn Tantitakorn (Year 11) received third place in the under 18 category and Azra Anderson (Year 8) received fifth place in the under 14 category.

Hami Song (Y11) and Nyke van der Laan (Y8) were also finalists. Congratulations to all participants involved in an outstanding result for Headstart International School!
