The fair was officially opened by Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (PPAO) President Rewat Areerob at the Floresta Mini Convention Hall, on the third floor of Central Phuket Floresta on Thursday (Apr 23). The event runs daily from 10am to 10pm until May 3.

Organised through a collaboration between Plan for Kids Co Ltd, Big Bad Wolf Books and Central Phuket, the fair aims to promote a reading culture and expand educational opportunities across Southern Thailand.

Speaking at the opening, organisers highlighted that the event features a wide selection of books in both Thai and English, spanning children’s titles, young adult fiction and adult literature. High-quality publications from international publishers are being offered at heavily reduced prices to make them accessible to a broader audience.

Managing Director of Plan for Kids, Risrual Aramcharoen, said this marks the fourth time the event has been held in Phuket, with previous editions receiving strong public support.

She noted that Phuket’s status as an international tourism hub, where English is widely used, makes reading an essential tool for improving language skills, expanding perspectives and encouraging creativity among residents of all ages.

Alongside retail sales, the event also includes book donation initiatives aimed at promoting literacy and widening access to educational resources, particularly for children and communities with limited opportunities.

Special promotions, including additional discounts and complimentary gifts for qualifying purchases, are also being offered throughout the fair to encourage participation, especially among students, families and young readers.

Organisers said the event is expected to play a key role in fostering a sustainable learning society in Phuket and neighbouring provinces.
