The charges laid against 22-year-old Pratompong Seaton were announced at a press conference held at Phuket Provincial Police Station earlier today.

It was also announced at the press conference that three people arrested on Saturday (Oct 24) in connection with the murder have now also been charged with murder and attempted murder.

Thanaphon Chusawat, 18; Chinkrit Kerdthong, 18, and a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were arrested at a house Moo 4 in Kathu on Saturday and had initially been charged with illegal possession of firearms and carrying weapons in public without a permit. (See story here.)

Meanwhile, police also confirmed today that they have received a further two arrest warrants in connection with the murder and are currently looking for the two suspects, Pradit Pinyosuk, 20, and Anon Wawndee, 27, who police believe are now in hiding.

The 15-year-old-boy was shot dead and three of his friends injured during a shoot-out close to the Phuket Vocational College in Phuket Town on October 22.

According to witnesses, the shooters attacked the victims after they threw live firecrackers at them, sparking an altercation that ended with the four boys being shot. ( See story here.)
