A DOPA special operations unit launched the raid at about 1:40am on Tuesday (Feb 24) following complaints from residents in Rawai that illegal sales and use of methamphetamine and crystal meth (ya ice) were taking place at the property, causing ongoing disturbance in the neighbourhood.
During the operation, officers first arrested two suspects with 262 ya bah pills, 42.22g of crystal methamphetamine and two mobile phones. They were charged with jointly selling Category 1 narcotics with intent to sell without permission, conducting commercial distribution and consuming Category 1 narcotics.
The officers then moved on and arrested two more suspects with 10 ya bah pills, 1.21g of crystal meth, one motorcycle and two mobile phones. They were charged with illegal possession of Category 1 narcotics, drug consumption and driving under the influence of drugs.
All four suspects and the seized items were handed over to investigators at Chalong Police Station for further legal proceedings, DOPA reported.
Provincial officials said the operation formed part of an ongoing crackdown on drug-related offences in residential communities across Phuket following public complaints.
