The incident occurred at about 11:50pm, with Patong Police receiving the report shortly afterwards, according to an official report.
Pol Lt Narind Bilson, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) at Patong Police Station, was notified by the station’s radio centre of the accident.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found the injured rider, a foreign national whose name and nationality have yet to be confirmed, after they had fallen from the motorcycle.
Rescue workers transported the victim to Patong Hospital, where medical staff reported the person’s condition as critical.
Police noted that no other parties were involved in the incident and no evidence was recorded at the scene.
Doctors have conducted a blood alcohol test as part of the investigation, though results were not immediately available.
The case remains under investigation by Patong Police.
