The incident occurred at about 9:10pm last night (Mar 17) after a group of tourists returned from a boat party off the coast of Phuket.
Video footage of the incident shows two shirtless male tourists arguing before shoving each other, quickly escalating into a physical fight. Attempts by their companions to break up the altercation instead led to more people joining in, turning the scene into a chaotic group brawl.
Witnesses at the scene tried to intervene, but tensions remained high as the confrontation spread from the pier into a nearby motorcycle parking area commonly used as a tourist pick-up and drop-off point. The disturbance caused panic among onlookers in the crowded area.
The cause of the altercation remains unclear.
Following the incident, the group dispersed and returned to their accommodations. There were no reports of serious injuries, and so far no formal complaint had been filed with police.
