Kathu Police were called to the scene, on Wichit Songkhram Rd, at about 7:30am.
Police and rescue workers arrived to find a damaged Honda ADV motorbike by the side of the road. Nearby was the body of the foreign man several metres from the road.
The man was dressed in a blue short-sleeved T-shirt, blue shorts and white sneakers. A light green Reebok bracelet was visible on his right wrist, police noted.
The man appeared to have died from fatal head injuries sustained in the accident.
The man’s body was transported to Vachira Phuket Hospital while police continue their investigation into the accident.
Of note, CCTV of the accident showed the man failing to negotiate the curve and driving straight into the guardrail at speed. The CCTV footage showed there were no other vehicles near the man when the accident happened.
