The fire was reported at about 12:10am at a single-storey house in Soi Muang Thong 4, Wichit, according to Wichit Municipality’s Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Unit.
Emergency crews were immediately dispatched to the scene with one fire engine, two water trucks, a patrol vehicle and an ambulance.
Wichit Mayor Kreetha Chotiwichpipat oversaw operations alongside the village headman of Moo 6, disaster prevention officers and officers from Wichit Police Station.
Firefighters battled the blaze for about one hour and 20 minutes before bringing it under control.
Five people injured in the incident were transported to Vachira Phuket Hospital for treatment. Authorities have not yet disclosed the extent of their injuries.
Wichit Police said they were notified of the incident at about 12:15am. Officers confirmed that injuries and property damage were reported, though details of the damage have yet to be released.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
