Police were alerted to the fire, at the Sound Technics Sapam outlet, located opposite the Krungsri Bank branch, at 8:20am.
Four fire engines from Rassada Municipality dispatched to the fire, along with a water truck from the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (PPAO).
Firefighters arrived to find the shop engulfed in flames, with thick smoke filling the air. The establishment, specialising in car audio installations, contained several vehicles, including motorbikes and cars, which suffered significant damage.
Chanidapa Mukdee, the shop owner’s mother and manager, confirmed that no one was inside the building when the fire broke out.
Initial investigations, including CCTV footage, suggest that the fire originated in a customer’s car undergoing audio system installation.
The blaze destroyed four motorbikes and a half-cab pickup truck, with the total damage cost yet to be determined.
Police have called in the Phuket Forensic Science Office to conduct a detailed investigation into the exact cause of the fire. Further enquiries are ongoing.
