The Kusoldharm Rescue Foundation received a call from a local resident at 7pm yesterday where it was reported that a fire had broken out at the Moo Krob Khun Yai restaurant on Wichitsongkram Rd.
Five fire trucks from Phuket City Municipality were sent to the two storey commercial building to find the second floor ablaze with flames threatening to spread to neighbouring properties.
Luckily, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in 30 minutes, however, an official from Phuket City Municipality said that fire firefighters were unable to stop the fire spreading and that a neighbouring property had sustained minor damage as a result. However, he added that there were no deaths or injuries reported.
The official said , “We believe that the fire started as a result of a short circuit in the property. However we will wait for police to investigate the incident and determine the true cause of the fire and the estimated cost of damage.”
