The fire, reported at about 7:45am, broke out inside the venue, located above the Dublin Irish Pub, Patong Police reported.
Officers from Patong Police Station and local firefighters quickly responded and worked to bring the flames under control.
Police confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident.
Patong Police Deputy Superintendent (Investigation) Pol Lt Col Somprasong Labaisai said he was notified while on duty and immediately proceeded to the scene. Upon arrival, officers found firefighters already extinguishing the blaze.
The restaurant’s director, identified as a 43-year-old foreign national Sergii Gudz, told police he rushed to the venue after being notified by a friend that the restaurant was on fire. By the time he arrived, the fire had already been put out.
Police officers conducted a preliminary inspection of the damaged area and documented the scene, including preparing a scene record, map and photographic evidence. Forensic police have been called in to determine the cause of the fire.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the extent of the damage or the cause of the blaze.
Police said further updates will be provided once the investigation progresses.
