At around 5am, Pol Lt Kris Thinnakorn from Thepa Police Station in Songkhla received a report about a car that had crashed into a tree at the Leela Resort Curve on Asia Road in the Thepa District in Songkhla.

Police arrived while the Phuket-registered car was still burning fiercely, with all four people – two men, a woman and a child – trapped inside.

After the blaze was extinguished police were able to see that the Black Honda City was registered in Phuket as belonging to Ismael Sama from Rassada.

Although the dead have yet to be identified, police believe that all four may have been from the same family. They are still working on putting names to them all.

Police said the car was heading in the direction of the Deep South when it crashed into a tree and burst into flames. They have yet to establish the cause of the crash.
