The mobile crane was being used near Kamphaengphet 6 Road for the construction of the Red Line electric railway from Bang Sue to Don Muang. Italian-Thai Development Plc is the contractor there.

The accident happened about 8.40am. The fallen jib of the crane also hit two vehicles in the parking lot of the Don Muang train station.

Thanupong Phucharoentanyawat, 39, was injured in his silver Mitsubishi Pajero vehicle. A silver Toyota Vios car was also smashed but no one was in it at the time.

A Bangkok Post reporter said the contractor had removed the crane and all the tracks reopened at 10.15am.
