Taling Chan police in Bangkok arrested Mongkol Preesukkasem last Thursday (July 25) in the middle of a lecture he was giving on law enforcement to a local high school in Nonthaburi, reports the Bangkok Post.
Mr Mongkol was wanted on an arrest warrant issued by the Criminal Court on June 20 in connection with his alleged illegal impersonation, wearing of a prosecutor’s uniform, fraud, and importing false information into a computer system.
Police said Mr Mongkol had posted photos of himself wearing what appeared to be a full prosecutor’s uniform decorated with honour pins and insignias on his Facebook page.
The pictures were intended to mislead people into thinking he worked as a prosecutor, according to the complaint filed by the Attorney-General’s Office.
The source said checks by prosecutors revealed that Mr Mongkol had personally advised a senior prosecutor, although the advisory role was never made official.
The investigation is being expanded ahead of witnesses for the prosecution, who are due to be interviewed tomorrow.
The pictures also claimed to show Mr Mongkol attending promotion ceremonies alongside other snaps taken with high-ranking state officials from various agencies.
