Wichuthat Chotchuang, a resident of Moo 1, Thepkrasattri, was riding northbound along Thepkrasattri Rd at about 5:20pm when he noticed smoke coming from motorbike.

He stopped in time, near the entrance to Baan Lipon Housing Authority residential estate, to dismount and flee to safety before flames engulfed the motorbike.

Bystanders attempted to extinguish the fire, to no avail. Fire trucks from Srisoonthorn Municipality soon arrived and doused the flames.

Mr Wichuthat said that the motorbike was working normally when he noticed signs of overheating. Moments later, smoke billowed from the vehicle, prompting him to check, then quickly stop and get off the motorbike.

The motorbike was only one year old, but Mr Wichuthat admitted that he had made modifications to the vehicle.
