Three goals in the first half was enough to secure the Eagles their 3 points and saw them move from 9th to 7th in the Yamaha League One table. The Ronins still sit at 16th in the red zone.
The visitorʼs made a dream start with Vadomiro Suarez beating the off-side line on the right and slotting the ball passed Phuket keeper Piyawat Intaraphim only seconds into the game.
The hosts tried to repond and a Andre Lopez corner found Trent McClenahan at the far post but his header went just inches past the post.
The Eagles got their second midway through the first half when Kittikrai Jantaraksa fired a nice shot to the far post from the edge of the Phuket penalty area.
The hosts once again tried to fight back but the visitors got their third just before the half time whistle when Sarayuth Chaikamdee put a loose ball into the net.
The Ronins had to wait until the 78th minute to get their first goal and only goal of the game with top scorer Nmdebl Beline once again finding the back of the net.
The score would remain 1-3 at the final whistle.
This losss was the fourth in a row for the Ronins and they are now facing an uphill struggle to get themselves out of the relegation zone.
After the game, rumours were flying around that Roninʼs president Pramukpisit Achariyachai had gone to the dressing room and blasted the players for the result and not playing with their heart.
“Yes, I did say something like that, but i was angry at the time, but now I have calmed down,” he said.
Coach Songyo ‘Dangʼ Klinsrisuk' also expressed his responsibility after the Ronins got their fourth defeat in a row.
“I have no problem with what the clubʼs board members decide about my future. I have tried my best and worked so hard with the team, but we still cannot get a good result. I do understand the situation,” he said.
However, Mr Pramuk confirmed that Coach Dang will keep his role as coach.
“I don't have any problem with Coach Dang, he has worked so hard and brought in a good system to the team. This season we have used a lot of young players and we have given them so many chances to prove themselves. It will be good for the future,” he added.
“And I am still confident that we will not be relegated,” he concluded.
There will now be a week break for international games, and Phuket will next hit the road in an away match against Samutsongkram on September 12.
