Nine hundred thousand people in Phuket and six other southern provinces – Chumporn, Surat Thani, Trang, Krabi, Nakhon Sri Thammarat and Phang-Nga – were left speechless from 3:30 to 8:30 pm on January 5.
Dr Prawit Lisathapronwongsa, director of the Telecom Consumer Protection Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission, told The Phuket News, “The service was stopped temporarily for network improvement, but [DTAC] will refrain from charging a service fee for subscribers for the period from midday on January 4 to midday on January 6.”
