A police report provided to The Phuket News by one of the victims states that Yuri Lozhkin, from Russia, crashed his car into a car belonging to a Mr West. This bumped Mr West’s car into that belonging to Siriya Abdulla, and then a fourth car was hit, belonging to Thana Rakdee.
Police said the crash was caused by Mr Lozhkin’s carelessness, and the fact that he was drunk. The results from Mr Lozhkin’s breathaliser test showed a reading of 114 milligrams per cent. The legal limit is 50.
Mr Lozhkin was arrested and charged with drink driving and appeared in Phuket Provincial Court today.
