Officers from Phuket City Police Station carried out the operation in the Saphan Ruam 1 community under orders from station chief Pol Col Chatree Chukaew. The raid formed part of an ongoing crackdown on drug-related crime in the area.

The operation was led by Deputy Chief of Investigation Pol Lt Col Korapol Liengboonjinda, alongside Chief of Investigation Pol Lt Col Kant Aksornthong, Pol Capt Natthee Pichitchainithimeth and a team of investigative officers. Police surrounded and searched targeted locations within the community before moving in to make arrests.

Three suspects were apprehended at the scene: a 48-year-old man identified as Roj, a 54-year-old woman identified as Yami, and a third individual whose details were not fully disclosed by police.

During the search, officers seized three small resealable plastic bags containing a total of 0.58 grammes of crystal meth. Additional items confiscated included 20 rounds of .22-calibre ammunition, a set of drug-taking paraphernalia and a digital weighing scale, commonly associated with drug distribution.

The three suspects face multiple charges, including jointly selling a Category 1 narcotic (crystal methamphetamine) with intent to sell for commercial purposes, illegal consumption of a Category 1 narcotic, and unlawful possession of ammunition.

In a separate but related arrest, police detained a fourth suspect, 51-year-old Wichit, who was found selling ya bah pills in a nearby alley. Officers seized four tablets stored in a resealable plastic bag.

Wichit has been charged with possession of a Category 1 narcotic without permission and illegal consumption of methamphetamine.

All four suspects were taken into custody and handed over to investigators at Phuket City Police Station for further legal proceedings.

Police said the operation reflects continued efforts to suppress drug trafficking and use within local communities, particularly in densely populated urban areas. Further investigations are ongoing to determine whether the suspects are linked to a wider distribution network.
