Acting on an investigation, officers from the Phuket Provincial Police Narcotics Suppression Division arrested the man, named in their report only as ‘Sarawut’ In front of a rental room accommodation in Soi Thiam Pracha Uthit, in Moo 1, Ratsada.

The time and date of his arrest was not reported.

However, police noted that Sarawut, 34, registered as living in Moo 3, Srisoonthorn, apparently went by the nickname ‘M Tha Ruea-Nai Koh’.

A search of a room where Sarawut was arrested found 2,060 ya bah pills and 193.43g of crystal meth, police said.

Also seized were five clear zip-lock plastic bags, one digital scale and a Vivo mobile phone, model apparently used to commit drug-related offences.

Sarawut was taken to Phuket City Police Station, where he was charged with “distributing Category 1 narcotics (ice, methamphetamine) for sale without permission, which is an act for trade and causes the spread among the public and affects the security of the state or the safety of the general public” and “taking Category 1 narcotics (Methamphetamine or Ice/Yaba) illegally”.
