The roadworks at the Guan Yu Nabon Shrine Intersection were announced today (Nov 24) by Chalong Police Station. According to the notice posted on Facebook, the installation of drain pipes at the intersection will effectively block access to Soi Ta-Ied from Chao Fa East Rd.
Motorists heading into Phuket’s renowned “Muay Thai Street” from Chao Fa East Rd can access it through the Thai Watsadu parking lot. The same route can be used by drivers and riders who need to get to Chao Fa East Rd from Soi Ta-Ied, as the normal way will also be blocked by the drain works.
The works on the Guan Yu Nabon Shrine Intersection were initially scheduled for this weekend (Nov 25-26). As explained by the Phuket Office of the Highway Department today, the schedule was changed due to Robinson Chalong Mall having its grand opening on the said dates.
