From about 8-9pm last night, The Phuket News' readers reported lightning and thunderstorms island-wide, from Kamala to Phuket Town, Chalong and Rawai.

By 9.30pm our reporter sent in photos of a flooded Thepkrasattri Road in the area in front of Muslim Witaya School in Koh Kaew, where runoff had flooded the road, slowing down traffic flow, especially in the South bound lane.

Meanwhile, at least one home at Supalai City Hill housing estate in Rassada was damaged when flood-waters penetrated a wall and breached the interior of the house.

The homeowner, who was not in the house at the time of the incident, was informed about the damage from a concerned security guard, who noted that the water level was as high as 60 centimeters at its peak, before finally receding.

The homeowner reported damages to include four computers, in addition to two freezers, a sofa and several other electrical appliances.

Meanwhile, Rassada Municipality has vowed to provide assistance to homeowners and anyone else who may have been affected.
