Police were alerted today (June 27) to two locations where the objects were discovered.
The first was found on the Phang Nga side of the Sarasin Bridge, in Tambon Khok Kloi, Takua Thung District.
The second was placed directly in front of the Governor’s house in Tambon Thai Chang, Mueang District.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) officers quickly secured both scenes and safely disabled the devices before sending them to the Central Institute of Forensic Science for further examination.
In response to the incidents and amid wider security concerns following similar reports in other provinces, Phang Nga Governor Phraiwat Petchyuan has ordered heightened security measures.
He has instructed police, district chiefs and local officials to step up patrols, particularly in vulnerable areas, residential zones, and popular tourist spots, to ensure public safety and maintain confidence among visitors to the province.
