The date was agreed after the government convened a meeting yesterday (Feb 17) to advance preparations for the royal cremation ceremony, reports the Bangkok Post.
Authorities aim to complete construction by Oct 31 to ensure full readiness for the ceremony.
The meeting of the committee overseeing the construction of the royal crematorium, its accompanying structures, and the restoration of royal chariots and palanquins was held for the second time this year.
Deputy Prime Minister Borwornsak Uwanno chaired the session, attended by senior officials from the Fine Arts Department, the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning, and related agencies at Government House.
The traditional ceremony to mark the placement of the foundation marker is scheduled for Feb 23.
Construction will then proceed in phases.
