The underpass will be closed from 11pm to 5am tonight (Mar 20) southbound, and from 10pm to 5am tomorrow night (Mar 21) northbound, the Phuket Highway office announced.
The temporary closure is required to facilitate cleaning operations and dredging of waste collection pits within the underpass to ensure proper drainage and road safety.
Phuket Highway Office chief Winai Kuemueang confirmed the works are necessary to maintain the efficiency of the underpass system.
Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes and follow traffic signage in place during the closure period and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
