A video clip shared in TikTok Tuk Ka Dai on Feb 18 captured the incidents, showing flames spreading through overhead wires.
The first fire erupted in front of a hotel on 50 Pi Rd, while the second ignited on a power pole along Rat-U-Thit 200 Pi Rd.
The local residents who were at the scene reported shock and chaos as visitors scrambled for safety.
Fortunately, firefighters from Patong Municipality responded swiftly, bringing both fires under control before they could spread further.
Social media reactions poured in after the post went viral, with some netizens expressing concern over recurring incidents in Phuket.
One of the comments said “Phuket has something happening every day!”
Another comment expressed concern, “Oh my god! I wouldn’t be able to sleep if I saw this in person.”
Patong Municipality and Patong police are now investigating the cause of the fires and assessing damage to communication wires and electrical infrastructure.
