Officers from Chalong Police were called to a house at Smart@Chalong housing estate in Moo 5, Chalong, at about 6:45am following a report of a violent domestic dispute involving a knife.
However, Pol Lt Wisarut Mahachoti, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) at Chalong Police, said he had earlier been alerted to the incident at around 4am while on duty, after receiving a report from the station’s radio centre of an assault at the same address.
Upon arriving at the property, officers found no injured persons at the scene. Neighbours and acquaintances told police that the victims had already been taken to Dibuk Hospital for treatment.
Police later confirmed that two people had sustained stab wounds: A 48-year-old Chinese woman and her 13-year-old son, both Chinese nationals.
According to initial questioning, the boy had contacted authorities to seek help during the incident.
Investigators believe the attack stemmed from a domestic dispute between the woman and her Chinese partner, who was residing at the house. The argument reportedly escalated into violence, resulting in both victims being injured.
After the incident, the suspect, not named in reports by police, fled the scene by car before police arrived.
Officers documented the scene, collected evidence and compiled a report as part of their ongoing investigation.
Pol Col Surasak Jaidee, Superintendent of Chalong Police Station, has been notified of the case. Police are continuing efforts to locate the suspect and proceed with legal action.
