Chinese tourist injured as Phuket airport drop-off zone becomes drive-through

The car, driven by Woranuch Buth-eid from Krabi, arrived and slammed the luggage trolleys through the window at 5:45pm, scattering shards of glass across the floor inside the terminal.

Chinese tourist Zhang Shuya, 24, who was waiting for her flight, suffered minor injuries to her left ankle and foot.

“Ms Zhang was taken to Thalang Hospital after receiving basic first aid from the PIA emergency medical unit,” PIA Director Monrudee Gettuphan explained.

“Ms Woranuch agreed to pay for all damages. Luckily, her vehicle has full insurance coverage,” she added.

Ms Woranuch, during questioning by Tha Chatchai Police, explained that she intended to stop the car in drop-off zone like other vehicles.

“But I stepped on the accelerator instead,” she said.
