Police were called to a hotel on Phra Mettha Rd, Patong, at 12:25am today (Jan 30), said a report of the incident.
Lt. Wichayut Dampuek of the Patong Police responded to the call, and arrived at the hotel to find the 19-year-old in her room with a deep wound, some seven inches long, to her right leg.
The woman was taken to Patong Hospital, where she received stitches to close the wound, and was admitted for further treatment, police confirmed.
According to the police report, the woman had an argument with her father and mother over “family problems”. Ending the argument, the woman had smashed a Tiger beer bottle and gouged her own leg with it.
The report gave no indication of what the argument was about.
Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
