The man's wife told police that prior to his death he'd been out drinking and suffered from heart disease and high blood pressure.

The man's wife told police that prior to his death he'd been out drinking and suffered from heart disease and high blood pressure.

Lt Col Wirapong Rakkito of Kathu Police was alerted of the death of a foreign man at 7am this morning by staff at a resort on Soi Bowling, which branches off of Patong's Sai Nam Rd.

The deceased was identified as Mr He Guangde who was found lying on his back in the bed, wearing shorts but not no shirt.

"We did not find any unusual marks on him or any sign of a struggle though the body has taken to Patong Hospital for further inspection," said Lt Col Wirapong.

The man's wife, named as Mrs Zhao Gunfang, told police that prior to his death, he'd been out drinking and suffered from heart disease and high blood pressure, and had gone back to the hotel room to rest.

Police did not clarify whether she was with him at the time of death or not.

"She believes he suffered from a heart attack and does not want us to pursue our investigation any further," Lt Col Wirapong concluded.
