Cherng Talay Police were called to the scene of the accident, in front of the Samnak Pathipatham Luang Pho Sompharong temple on the Cherng Talay-Baan Don Road, at about 6:15am.

The driver, identified as 31-year-old Chanchai Daengphrom from Cha-uat District, Nakhon Sri Thammarat Province, was driving a cement truck registered in Ratchaburi and owned by TLL Logistics Co Ltd. He was transporting powdered cement from Thung Song District in Nakhon Sri Thammarat to a development in Cherng Talay in Phuket, police reported.

Mr Chanchai told police that he had departed Nakhon Sri Thammarat at 8pm the previous evening. While driving through the Cherng Talay area at about 3:50am, he lost control of the truck, which collided with the electric poles and damaged nearby internet network infrastructure.

The collision resulted in two electric poles being knocked down and disrupted power in the Baan Pasak area. Internet network cabling was also damaged
