Police said the incident occurred at a house in Soi Saiyuan 11, Moo 7, Rawai, at about 12:30am. Officers responded after being alerted by a neighbour, who reported that a teenage boy had sustained injuries after being attacked inside the home.

When officers arrived, they found a girl, aged 6, injured inside the house. Officers coordinated with emergency responders to transfer her for medical treatment.

A neighbour, who reported the incident, told police that the girl’s brother, 13, had been taken to Dibuk Hospital for treatment of injuries to his torso. The neighbour told police that the children had been assaulted by their mother, a Canadian national.

Soon after the initial report, Chalong Police received a second notification from a good Samaritan that a woman had been found with abdominal injuries and exhibiting incoherent behaviour.

Patrol officers located the woman, who was confirmed to be the mother, and she was taken into custody and transported to Chalong Hospital under police guard.

Officers and forensic investigators from Phuket Provincial Police conducted an examination of the house and reported finding significant bloodstains throughout the property, particularly in a downstairs bathroom where the younger child is believed to have taken refuge.

A pointed knife, believed to have been used in the attack, was recovered from the scene as evidence.

Police said all injured persons are now receiving medical treatment while officers continue to gather statements and forensic evidence. The motive for the attack remains under investigation.

Chalong Police Chief Col Surasak Jaidee confirmed the case is being handled as a serious violent incident involving minors, with ongoing legal proceedings to follow pending the results of the investigation.
