Karon Police were called to the scene, at the entrance to Nui Beach on Kata-Saiyuan Road (which is part of Patak Rd), at around 9:15am.
Inside a parked Mitsubishi Xpander, registered in Phuket, was the body of the Canadian man*. His body was positioned near the rear door.
Officers, including forensic specialists from the Phuket Provincial Forensic Science Office and doctors from Vachira Phuket Hospital, examined the scene to determine the cause of death, which was not reported.
Police said they were coordinating with the Canadian Embassy to inform the deceased’s family of the man’s demise.
The investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, police said.
