The bus careened off the road in front of the Patong City sign at about 10:40am.
There were 27 Chinese tourists – 14 women and 13 men – on board the bus, a rescue worker told The Phuket News.
“Two men suffered broken arms and a woman suffered a broken leg,” the rescue worker said.
All of the tourists on the bus were taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket Town, he added.
“When we arrived there were sparks coming from the engine bay, but we managed to extinguish them and prevent any fire from breaking out,” the rescue worker said.
Emergency workers are now working on safely recovering the bus from its position high on the hill.
