RBAC FC hopes Muay Thai star Buakaw Banchamek can tame his opponents on the football field when he steps out as the team's new star forward.
The Regional League team, backed by Rattana Bundit University, will unveil its new player in its opener on Sunday, Manager Online quoted head coach Piyanat Rattanapien as saying.
''I've seen him play football and he shows poise. That's why I decided to put him in the team,'' Piyanat said of the new player, also known as Buakaw Por Pramuk.
The Muay Thai mega-star from Surin is reported to have signed a one-year contract with RBAC. Details of the contract have not been disclosed.
Buakaw, whose real name is Sombat Banchamek, has connections with Rattana Bundit University, the main supporter of the club. He enrolled as a student at the business administration faculty last year. Bangkok Post
