Buakaw to bring the pain tonight at Phuket's Patong Boxing Stadium

MUAY THAI: Legendary Muay Thai fighter Buakaw Banchamek will headline a night of fights at Patong Boxing Stadium on Sainamyen Road tonight (November 18).

The 31-year-old last visited the stadium in November 2012, as part of an exhibition where he took on two  well-known fighters of Muay Boran - an ancient form of Muay Thai - at the same time. 

It has not been announced what type of exhibition Buakaw will take part in this time out, but the former K-1 MAX World Champion will be available after the event for photo opportunities. 

Buakaw is one of the most well-known Muay Thai fighters of this generation, with just under 500 fights under his belt. 

A highly decorated knock-out specialist, the Surin-native has wont he Thai Fight tournament two years running starting in 2011, the k-1 World MAX Championship Tournament in 2004 and 2006 (finalist in 2005), and was the WMC Super Welterweight World Champion several times, among many other achievements in a stellar career. 

He is currently competing in the K-1 World Max 2013 Championship Tournament, making it into the final eight after knocking out his opponent in the first round on September 14 in Mallorca, Spain.

Tickets can be purchased at Patong Boxing Stadium box office and are priced at B1,300 for regular, B1,500 for ringside seats, and B1,800 for VIP seats.
