Last time I went to Sirinat National Marine Park to swim, I could smell the sewage and view frothy brown water emanating undoubtedly from a canal that winds through Layan village and empties into the shallow bay. There's a migrant worker camp with about 1000 residents in this area. 2+2=4

I've been criticized for my frequent posts about things Phuket does to drive away western tourists by making them feel unwelcomed (elimination of chairs/umbrellas, beach side nightclubs, shops, restaurants, and vendors). This costs Phuket billions in lost income to all who work here.

No surprise at all - the beaches in Phuket are in a shocking state: untreated poo floating around, jet skis, parasails, aggressive vendors, litter everywhere, dead corals, motorbikes charging along the pavements, hoards of mainland chinese tourists.

Come on TAT, you need to do something about it. No more committees & talking, action ti...

Bit by bit the tourist world industry and tourists get knowledge of the untreated waste water release at almost every Phuket beach
Phuket beach waters, polluted with excrements, urine, laundry disposal, all released freely at beaches from hundreds hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, laundries
Next year Trip Advisor may be expected even a lower Phuket ranking, as nothing happens to improve
