Karon Police were called to the scene, near the southern end of the beach, at 5.50am. A Myanmar man hired to set up umbrellas at the beach spotted the body and alerted authorities.
Officers from Karon Police Station, the Ruam Jai Rescue Foundation and a forensic doctor from Vachira Phuket Hospital were dispatched to the scene.
The deceased is believed to be a foreign man aged between 60 and 70. He was found wearing only a black round-neck shirt, with no pants. An initial examination found no visible signs of injury or foul play, aside from minor abrasions likely caused by the body scraping against the sand.
Police estimate the man had been dead for around three to four hours before being discovered. No identification documents or personal belongings were found at the scene, and his identity and nationality remain unknown.
The body was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital for a further examination. Meanwhile, local police are checking for any recent reports of missing persons in the area.
