Special blood donation events are planned for January. The need for Rh-negative blood remains critical, as Thai donors predominantly supply Rh-positive blood, while only foreigners can provide the much-needed Rh-negative type.
During the high season for tourism, the number of motorbike accidents and other incidents involving tourists rises sharply, increasing the demand for Rh-negative blood.
All eligible donors are encouraged to give blood whenever possible to help meet the rise in demand.
