Despite weather-related challenges and rescheduling, both championships were successfully completed, highlighting the commitment of students, staff and schools to PISAC sport.
The PISAC Football Championships, hosted at the BISP campus on Jan 10, were a fantastic success, bringing together schools from across the island for a full day of competitive and high-quality football. Originally scheduled for Term 1, the event was rescheduled but carried out successfully on the new date.
Students from Under-9 through U13 proudly represented their PISAC schools, demonstrating skill, determination and excellent sportsmanship throughout the tournament. The competition provided valuable opportunities for players across all age groups to perform in a structured and competitive environment, with many closely contested matches reflecting the strong standard of play on display.
The results were as follows:
U9 Boys: BCIS (1); BISP (2); KIS (3).
U11 Girls: BISP (1); HeadStart City (2); UWC (3).
U11 Boys: BISP (1); BCIS (2); HeadStart City (3).
U13 Girls: HeadStart City (1); BISP (2); KIS (3).
U13 Boys: BISP (1); BCIS (2); KIS (3).
The championships concluded with the presentation of awards recognising team achievements and outstanding performances across each age group.
Shortly after the football tournament, the PISAC Cross Country Championships was hosted at BISP and transpired to also be a tremendous success. Across two competition days, more than 200 runners took part, bringing energy, determination and strong team spirit to the campus. Students from U9 to U18 represented their PISAC schools with pride, completing one, two or three laps of the course depending on their age group.
The Primary Championships took place as scheduled on Oct 28 last year. However, due to heavy rain, the Secondary Championships required several postponements, with the U13, U15 and U18 races eventually completed January 12.
Each race demonstrated impressive effort and perseverance, with medals awarded to the top three finishers in every age group. The championships concluded with the recognition of individual age-group winners and an overall champion, providing a fitting end to an excellent event.
