Thai Hua fended off a tough BISP Senior Boys teams 19-17 in a low scoring affair. Meanwhile, the BISP Senior Girls team lost to local powerhouse Satree Phuket in overtime.
This was the first year that the competition saw a Girls division.
“After watching the O15 Boy’s team’s success in last year’s tournament, the girl’s team and myself were so excited to participate in this year’s tournament,” says Esme Plunkett, Captain of BISP Senior Girls.
“The Challenge Cup was a great success for the second year running,” agrees tournament organiser and BISP PE Teacher Jamie Blake.
“The highlight for me as the organiser was seeing the BISP sports hall packed full of supporters and spectators and witnessing a true Friday night basketball scene.
“The atmosphere was fantastic and the players really stepped up to the mark and played some quality school boy basketball throughout the competition.”
