Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat led the occasion, which was joined by Royal Volunteers, government officers and members of the public
Governor Sophon gave words of appreciation for King Bhumibol’s grace, noting the adage ‘We do good deeds with our hearts’, “with the hope that all groups of citizens will have unite, cooperate together, conduct public activities for the benefit and happiness of the public without expecting anything in return”, said an official report of the event.
The event was held “to offer royal merit and bow in remembrance of His Majesty’s grace and with gratitude for His Majesty’s grace that His Majesty has for the Thai people by continuing His Majesty’s wishes with loyalty by adhering to good practice, preserve the nation and create benefits for the nation forever”, the report added.
The volunteers joined together to clean the area, collecting trash and doing some minor landscaping, ahead of the village being doused with Abate larvicide to eliminate mosquito larvae to help prevent the spread of dengue in the community.
