Thailand, Vietnam, Kuwait and Qatar form part of Group A. Both Thailand and Kuwait will rekindle their friendly rivalry as both teams already met earlier on Friday (November 14) in the Beach Flag Football event in which Thailand won gold.
Meanwhile, Group B will include reigning champions Iran, Oman and Syria while Group C pits China, Bahrain and Uzbekistan. Group D includes Japan, the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia.
The group stage is played in a round-robin format with the top two teams moving on to the knockout stages.
The Beach Soccer event will be held at Saphan Hin Sports Complex with competition beginning tomorrow (November 15) at 9:45 with Group D play. Thailand will play their first match against Qatar on at 4pm Saturday (November 15). The Beach Soccer event concludes November 21.
Iran won the Beach Soccer event at the 2012 Asian Beach Games in Haiyang, China with a 2-0 win over the host nation. Thailand failed to make it out of the group stages in 2012.
