The venue was raided at about 00.30am today (Sept 5), Patong Police reported.
The licensee, not named in the report, was charged with allowing children under 20 years old to work in a service establishment during unlawful hours, the report said.
The post of the report on the Patong Police official Facebook page featured a photo showing young women in the nightclub. The women’s faces were obscured for privacy reasons.
The crackdown on minors working in entertainment venues and massage parlours in Patong was launched last month by Patong Police Chief Col Sujin Nilabadee.
Patong Police reported raiding at least four venues last month, including a bar in the OTOP complex at the southern end of Patong.
In reporting a previous raid, Patong Police plainly stated that the crackdown on these types of venues was enforced “in order to prevent prostitution at workplaces among other unlawful acts.”
