Chalong Police were called to a hotel, located on Soi Ta-iad, at about 2:30pm after staff reported discovering the man* lying motionless on his bed in his room.

Pol Lt Athit Thong-anan, the investigating officer, confirmed that no signs of assault were found on the body. However, officers discovered several substances in the room, including Viagra, sleeping pills, marijuana and alcohol.

A forensic doctor at the scene suggested the man may have died from a drug overdose. His body was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital for further examination to confirm the cause of death.
