The suspect, identified by immigration officials only as ‘Mr Mc’, was detained on Saturday evening (May 3) after arriving in Thailand on Thai Airways flight TG432, from Bali.
He was en route to Phuket on a connecting flight when immigration officers flagged his arrival.
According to the Immigration Bureau, biometric checks revealed that the man was prohibited from entering Thailand and was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Phuket Provincial Court.
The warrant, dated May 2, 2025 (warrant number Chor. 326/2568), accuses him of “robbery with or using a firearm” and “using a vehicle to commit an offense”.
After receiving the alert from the Immigration Procedures Division, officers attempted to contact the lead investigator on the case but were unsuccessful. They then coordinated with Pol Lt Col Chaiwat Chansuwan of Chalong Police Station, who confirmed the arrest warrant.
The arrest was carried out by the Crime Suppression Division of Immigration Bureau Division 2. The suspect has since been handed over to the relevant authorities for further legal proceedings.
