The tricky but unique trek was no match for King of the Mountain Caleb Sadler, who came overall first with a time of 47 minutes and 35 seconds; while the Queen of the Mountain title was claimed by Helen Ruud just ten minutes later.
The inaugural Thanyapura King of the Mountain 8km trail run saw avid runners, adventure seekers and fitness fanatics race up and down one of Phuket's picturesque mountains.
Thrill seeking runners had to run across streams and climb over trees to get to the top of the hill and when they reached the top they had to come back down again right to the start, where they were met by excited crowds.
