Phuket City Police Chief Col Kamon Osiri, Deputy Chief Lt Col Chao Phomna and Forensic Police’s Lt Col Kittasak Choophueng yesterday arrived at the scene of the shooting, a two-storey property in the Rang Siri housing estate in Moo 3 Rassada, the lower floor of which was used as a tattoo parlour, to find two pools of blood on the floor.
Police were told that two males, Sinchai Kaewliporn, 30, and Jakkapan Saluaiieam, 28 had already been taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket Town.
Mr Sinchai sustained three bullet wounds across his chest and was later pronounced dead while Mr Jakkapan had also sustained a serious injury. (See story here.)
Phuket Provincial Police Commander Maj Gen Teeraphol Thipjaroen told the media today (Mar 5), “After making investigations into the shooting, we have discovered that the gunman is Warin Khemma, 25, from Udon Thani.
“Warin had a personal dispute with Mr Sinchai over a motorbike he had sold to Mr Sinchai for B20,000. Mr Sinchai had paid some of the money, but when Warin asked for the remaining money he got no response.
“Warin got so angry that he commited the crime,” Gen Teeraphol explained.
“The other people who were with Warin in the black Mitsubishi Pajero did not know he was going to commit the crime.
“Police have also not managed to find the big bike that was mentioned as being at the scene at the time of the incident,” Maj Gen Teeraphol said.
“We are now gathering all evidence to submit to the Phuket Provincial Court for the arrest warrant. Warin has just been released from prison for drug offences,” Maj Gen Teeraphol noted.
